Chinua Achebe Leadership Forum at Yale University, criticized the conduct of the 2023 election under the leadership of INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu and called for his removal.

Osadolor emphasized the need for an overhaul of the country’s electoral system, echoing Obasanjo’s sentiment that Yakubu and other INEC officials should apologize to Nigerians for undermining their trust. He also urged anti-corruption agencies to investigate the alleged mismanagement within the commission.

Reflecting on the failure of INEC to meet expectations, Osadolor stated that the electoral body’s actions posed a threat to Nigeria’s democracy and could lead to instability. He called on the INEC Chairman to take Obasanjo’s admonition seriously and consider resigning if he had any honor left.
