The fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has claimed that the actress died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State, while rejecting reports that her death was caused by complications from cancer.

Onadeko made the disclosure during an interview with the Celestial Reality Check, the investigative media unit of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), where he also addressed several allegations surrounding the actress’s final days.

According to Ireporter Online, the cleric, who is the Shepherd-in-Charge of CCC Onibuore Cathedral in Bogije, Ibeju-Lekki, said he was informed of Osoba’s death by an unidentified caller around midnight. He, however, admitted that he did not know the particular police station where she allegedly died.

Onadeko said Osoba had earlier expressed her intention to visit a woman identified as Mrs Kehinde Osoba, who also operates a church. He added that the actress was accompanied by a hairdresser with whom she had been staying at the time.

The cleric explained that he was unable to accompany Osoba because of church activities but remained in communication with her until he later received news of her death.

He further claimed that he reported himself at a nearby police station after learning about the incident, although he did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding her alleged death in custody.

Onadeko also disputed claims that cancer was responsible for Osoba’s death. He acknowledged that the actress had previously battled cancer and undergone treatment, including surgery, but maintained that the illness was not the cause of her death.

The actress had earlier spoken publicly about her health struggles, while members of her family subsequently urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information about the circumstances surrounding her passing.

Addressing financial allegations, Onadeko denied having access to money reportedly raised for Osoba’s medical treatment. He said donations were paid into the actress’s personal account and insisted that he neither diverted the funds nor used them to finance church projects.

The cleric also rejected allegations that Osoba was maltreated or prevented from accessing her personal belongings and vehicle. He claimed that she continued to move around freely and had driven herself to Iperu shortly before her death.

Onadeko further denied claims that Osoba was subjected to degrading treatment while living with him. He said their relationship involved mutual financial assistance and maintained that there had been no situation in which the actress was held against her will.

He also dismissed reports that the actress was poisoned, saying she had stopped attending the church approximately three weeks before her death.

The circumstances surrounding Temitope Osoba’s death remain the subject of conflicting claims, with different accounts emerging from people connected to the actress. Until official findings are released by the relevant authorities, the allegations surrounding the cause and circumstances of her death remain unconfirmed.
