I’m Done With It” — VeryDarkMan Walks Away From P-Square Family Crisis

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has announced his decision to withdraw from the ongoing family dispute involving members of the former music group P-Square following widespread criticism of his involvement.

According to Ireporter Online, the activist made the announcement in a video released on Sunday, days after several Nigerians on social media called on him to stay away from the prolonged disagreement involving twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye and their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

The dispute involving the famous music family has remained a major subject of public discussion, with fans and members of the public expressing differing views over the issues that contributed to the breakdown in the relationship among the brothers and their former manager.

VeryDarkMan had previously attracted criticism after publicly defending Jude and questioning some of the allegations raised by Peter concerning his twin brother and their former manager.

His intervention generated significant reactions online, with some Nigerians accusing him of taking sides in the family dispute.

However, in his latest video, the activist explained that his comments were not intended to support one side of the disagreement. He said his assessment was based on information he obtained after listening to different accounts surrounding the dispute.

VeryDarkMan maintained that the crisis could not be attributed to a single individual, arguing that several people contributed to the deterioration of relations within the family.

He said his review of the circumstances surrounding the dispute led him to conclude that Jude also bore responsibility for the breakdown of the relationship between the brothers.

The activist specifically faulted Jude over his alleged refusal to relinquish his managerial role in P-Square after Peter reportedly raised concerns about financial management.

VeryDarkMan said he would attribute about 40 per cent of the responsibility for the crisis to Jude, arguing that the disagreement over the management position contributed to the tensions that eventually escalated within the family.

He, however, stressed that the blame should not rest entirely on Jude, noting that Peter, his wife, other family members and individuals connected to the matter also played various roles in the dispute.

The activist said his objective had been to encourage a balanced assessment of the controversy rather than defend any particular member of the family.

He added that his intention was to provide what he considered an objective perspective and not further deepen the disagreements among the family members.

Announcing his withdrawal, VeryDarkMan said he would no longer make further comments on the P-Square family dispute, choosing instead to move on and concentrate on other matters.

He disclosed that his attention would now turn to his planned appearance before a police panel concerning allegations he previously made against Assistant Inspector-General of Police Jimoh Moshood.
