Wike Shares Vacation Photos As He Takes Break From Public Duties
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has proceeded on vacation after weeks of official engagements and project activities across Abuja.
According to IREPORTERONLINE, Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, confirmed on Monday that the minister embarked on leave after commissioning several projects in the FCT as part of activities marking the third anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Olayinka did not disclose Wike’s location but confirmed that the minister is currently on holiday.
He also revealed that additional projects are scheduled for commissioning in December and January, following the minister’s inspection of ongoing developments across the capital.
Sharing photographs of Wike during his vacation, Olayinka described the break as a deserved period of relaxation after an extensive schedule of official activities.
He said Wike had spent more than 30 days commissioning completed projects, flagging off new ones and inspecting ongoing projects, particularly those expected to be completed and commissioned later in the year and early next year.
Meanwhile, Wike has continued to express strong reservations about the political prospects of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The FCT minister recently argued that former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi would not significantly improve Atiku’s chances of winning the presidency if selected as his running mate.
Wike maintained that Atiku, who is the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), could face difficulties in the 2027 election with Amaechi as his running mate.
He further alleged that Atiku’s consideration of Amaechi was influenced more by financial interests than political calculations.
Wike made the remarks while speaking during his monthly media chat, where he also discussed developments surrounding the 2027 political contest.
