Daddy Showkey Slams P-Square: ‘You Destroyed Africa’s Biggest Music Brand
Veteran Nigerian singer Daddy Showkey has expressed disappointment over the prolonged dispute between twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye of the former music duo P-Square.
According to Ireporter Online, the veteran entertainer spoke during an interview with Goldmyne TV, where he criticised the brothers for allowing their differences to affect a music brand that had become an important part of Africa’s entertainment industry.
Daddy Showkey described P-Square as one of the biggest music brands to emerge from Africa, stressing that its success belonged not only to the brothers but also to the millions of fans who supported their career.
The singer argued that entertainers should always remember the role the public plays in their success and should consider their fans when making major decisions that could affect their careers.
Reflecting on his own career, Daddy Showkey noted that his achievements were made possible by the support of his audience. He maintained that entertainers owe a level of responsibility to the people who helped build their brands.
He further warned that the long-term consequences of the disagreement between Peter and Paul could become more evident with time, urging the brothers to prioritise their family relationship over their differences.
According to the veteran singer, Peter and Paul remain brothers regardless of their disagreements and should make efforts to settle their differences, particularly because they both have children.
He expressed concern that allowing the dispute to continue could eventually affect the next generation of the family.
Daddy Showkey’s comments come amid the prolonged disagreement involving Peter, Paul and their elder brother, Jude Okoye, who previously played a major managerial role in P-Square’s career.
The family dispute has continued to attract public attention, with fans and entertainment figures repeatedly expressing concern over the breakdown of one of Nigeria’s most successful musical partnerships
