He wrote, “Damagum and his paymasters will soon be taught Politics 101. The lessons from the Port Harcourt and Abuja presidential primaries have clearly not been learned. It’s too early to predict the outcome.”

The PDP has been grappling with a leadership crisis since the removal of its former acting National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu. Recently, a faction of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) suspended Damagum, along with National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, and National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade. However, the Abuja Federal High Court issued an order preventing the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the Board of Trustees (BoT) from removing Damagum as the party’s acting National Chairman.

In another development, Melaye also made headlines for his remarks regarding Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s criticism of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris. Melaye threatened to sell his Tesla vehicle and urged others to do the same if Musk continued to harass Harris ahead of the U.S. Presidential election. He wrote, “If Elon Musk doesn’t stop harassing Kamala Harris, I will sell my Tesla and encourage my friends to do the same. America should not lose her pride as the global democratic police.”
