Police Apprehend Five For Thuggery And Robbery In Niger State

SP Wasiu Abiodun, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the command, revealed this while parading the suspects in Minna. The arrested individuals are Saifulahi Mohammed, Nazifi Basiru, Nura Basiru, Ifeanyi John, and Ludu Haruna, all residents of Maitumbi, Minna.

The operation leading to their arrest was part of the ongoing crackdown on criminal hideouts in Minna and its environs. Acting on intelligence, the DPO Maitumbi Division, along with a patrol team and vigilantes, conducted a raid in areas including Angwan-Roka, Angwan-Kadara, and Saiko of Maitumbi, resulting in the apprehension of the suspects.

Various dangerous weapons allegedly used in their robbery activities were seized, including a cutlass, three knives, three scissors, suspected Indian hemp, cigarettes and lighters, charms, phones, and cash.

The suspects will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Minna for further investigation and subsequent prosecution once investigations are concluded. This development underscores the commitment of the police to ensuring the safety and security of residents in Niger State.
