Lagos Police Detain Officer For Breach Of Professional Conduct

According to a statement from SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police spokesperson for the state, the incident involved Aderele Aisha, who was reported to have driven against traffic and allegedly assaulted the officer while displaying disorderly conduct.
Despite the officer’s attempts to maintain composure throughout the encounter, it was noted that his judgment was clouded by emotions on a few occasions. As per the statement, the officer has been placed in custody pending appropriate disciplinary measures.
The statement emphasized the importance of police officers exercising utmost restraint, especially in challenging situations. It also acknowledged that while the officer’s actions were under scrutiny, Aderele Aisha, who was involved in the altercation, has expressed remorse for her behavior and has tendered a written apology.
While reiterating the commitment to professionalism within the force and holding accountable those who fail to adhere to standards, the statement called for mutual respect and decorum in interactions between citizens and security agencies.
