According to Ireporter Online, the 59-year-old actress made the revelation during an appearance on The Morayo Show, where she explained that she left Nigeria without informing her fans because her children needed her attention and support at the time.

Wright, who was once one of the most recognisable faces in Nigerian cinema, admitted that she owed her fans an apology for her sudden disappearance but maintained that she has no regrets about prioritising her family.

She explained that her children were living abroad and she believed being present in their lives was more important than continuing her successful acting career.

The actress said she would make the same decision again if faced with a similar situation, noting that motherhood was a responsibility she could not ignore.

“My children were abroad, and I believed they needed their mother’s love and guidance. I was willing to leave everything behind for them because they are my future,” she said.

After several years away from the entertainment industry, Wright made her return to the screen in January 2025 with a role in Something About the Briggs, marking her comeback to Nollywood.

The actress also revealed plans to revive her 2008 movie, Omotara Johnson, following repeated requests from fans who have been eager to see a continuation of the project.

Wright disclosed that she kept her return to acting private and only revealed the comeback after completing filming, explaining that she preferred to keep major plans away from public attention until they were fully realised.

She expressed confidence in her return, describing it as both the comeback of Omotara Johnson and a new chapter in her acting journey.
