Dangote Announces Fresh Petrol Price As Naira Sales Resume

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced free delivery of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, to selected locations across Nigeria while maintaining its ex-depot price at ₦1,075 per litre.

According to Ireporter Online, the refinery announced the initiative on Wednesday through a statement shared on its official social media platform, revealing that the offer is aimed at reducing distribution costs for eligible customers.

The company disclosed that the free delivery service covers Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Kaduna and Delta states, alongside the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Dangote Refinery stated that customers purchasing a minimum of 250,000 litres of petrol would be eligible to benefit from the delivery arrangement.

The latest move comes shortly after the refinery engaged key stakeholders in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector over the need for a cost-effective pricing system for petrol.

Following the discussions, industry stakeholders reportedly expressed support for further reductions in the price of the product and measures that could ease the burden on consumers.

The refinery had recently announced another reduction in its petrol gantry price, bringing the ex-depot cost down to ₦1,075 per litre as part of efforts to improve affordability and stability in the fuel market.

The free delivery initiative is expected to help qualifying customers save on transportation and logistics expenses while improving access to petroleum products in the affected areas.

Meanwhile, the President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Maigandi, disclosed that petrol prices have dropped by ₦125 per litre within the past three weeks.

Maigandi stated that current pump prices now range between ₦1,155 and ₦1,299 per litre, depending on location and individual marketers.

The development adds to ongoing changes within Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector as stakeholders continue to review pricing structures, supply chains and distribution costs.
