According to Ireporter Online, Ganduje, who previously served as Kano State governor, made the remarks while addressing journalists on Tuesday, where he questioned the political achievements and governance records of both opposition figures.

The former APC chairman insisted that the reported Obi-Kwankwaso partnership would struggle to secure significant support in Kano, declaring that the arrangement was unlikely to make an impact in the state.

“I don’t think Peter Obi and Kwankwaso’s ticket will succeed in Kano. It will not succeed. In fact, it is dead on arrival,” Ganduje stated.

Ganduje challenged Obi’s record as a former governor of Anambra State, asking Nigerians to evaluate the achievements and lasting projects from his tenure before considering him for the presidency.

He questioned what major contributions Obi made while serving as governor and whether his experience demonstrated the capacity required to lead the country at the highest level.

The former Kano governor also criticised Kwankwaso’s political history, particularly his inability to secure two consecutive terms as governor of Kano State.

Ganduje compared Kwankwaso’s record with those of other former Kano governors, including Ibrahim Shekarau and himself, noting that both were able to win re-election and complete eight years in office.

He argued that Kwankwaso’s political achievements in Kano were insufficient to convince voters that he possesses the credentials needed for a national leadership role.

According to Ganduje, the former Kano governor has not created enough lasting impact that would persuade Nigerians to support him as a potential vice-president or national leader.

He maintained that the proposed opposition alliance would face significant challenges and reiterated his belief that the ticket would fail to gain traction ahead of the 2027 elections.
