Influencer Simi Sanya Opens Up On Shocking Wedding Costs

According to Ireporter Online, Simi made the revelation during a recent appearance on Talk Your Talk, where she explained that she would rather not disclose the exact amount spent on the ceremony due to how expensive it became.

The influencer said that at a certain point, she and her husband stopped keeping track of their spending because adding up the figures made them question whether the massive celebration was financially worthwhile.

She explained that despite receiving gifts and money from guests, the expenses involved in hosting such an event could not be fully recovered.

Simi clarified that she never planned to have an overly extravagant wedding but only wanted a celebration that matched her dream and made her happy.

She also addressed discussions surrounding expensive weddings, including claims that spending millions of naira on ceremonies with limited guests could be excessive, noting that wedding budgets vary depending on individual choices and expectations.

According to her, several factors influence wedding expenses, including venue location, decoration, catering, entertainment and the choice of vendors.

The influencer revealed that her traditional wedding was held on Lagos Island while the white wedding took place on the Mainland, a decision she said helped reduce some costs.

She noted that venue prices differ significantly depending on location, adding that couples can adjust their budgets by making choices that suit their financial capacity.

Simi explained that expenses such as food, décor and entertainment depend largely on the couple’s preferences, revealing that she chose to provide enough food for her guests and hired multiple live bands to create the atmosphere she wanted.

She disclosed that her husband initially preferred a smaller ceremony with fewer guests and reduced spending, but he eventually supported her vision because he wanted her to have the wedding she had always dreamed of.

The influencer added that while planning a wedding requires careful financial decisions, couples have the freedom to determine how much they want to spend based on their priorities and personal preferences.
