Shettima Safely Returns Home After Plane Mishap, Updates President Tinubu
Vice-President Kashim Shettima has returned to Nigeria after his planned attendance at the 2024 Commonwealth Heads of Government Summit in Samoa was disrupted. Initially, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Shettima to lead the Nigerian delegation at the summit. However, due to the incident, Nigeria was represented by a team of ministers instead.
Upon his arrival back in Nigeria, Vice-President Shettima promptly briefed President Tinubu on national issues and his recent official activities, which included a trip to Sweden for high-level bilateral discussions. During his Sweden visit, he engaged with key officials, including Crown Princess Victoria and the Swedish Prime Minister, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations.
Photographs released by the State House on Monday showed Vice-President Shettima and President Tinubu engaged in discussions at the Presidential Villa. President Tinubu had returned to Nigeria on October 19, 2024, and has since resumed his duties, continuing dialogues on both national and international matters with his Vice-President.
