The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is set to hold an emergency meeting today (Wednesday) in Abuja to address the ongoing leadership crisis within the party, particularly the dispute over the National Secretary position.……READ MORE

The meeting, scheduled for 11 a.m. at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, will bring together key stakeholders to review recent developments and hear updates from the committee led by former Minister of Special Duties, Tanimu Turaki.

According to sources, the BoT opted for a neutral location instead of the PDP National Secretariat due to security concerns. The crisis revolves around a power struggle between factions backing Samuel Anyanwu and Sunday Ude-Okoye, both laying claim to the position of PDP National Secretary.

The discussions will also focus on recent court rulings, including a Court of Appeal decision allowing Anyanwu to remain in office pending a Supreme Court ruling.

Confirming the meeting, Anyanwu stated that he was not invited, nor was the PDP National Chairman, Umar Damagum. Ude-Okoye also acknowledged that the BoT had instructed both of them to stay away from the meeting until the dispute was resolved.

With tensions running high, today’s meeting is expected to play a critical role in shaping the next steps for the PDP’s leadership.
