During a discussion with journalists in Osogbo, the state capital, Oyintiloye affirmed that Tinubu’s strategic policy initiatives, particularly regarding the unification of exchange rates, are already showing promising results.
Acknowledging the initial challenges posed by the Central Bank of Nigeria’s decision to increase the benchmark interest rate, Oyintiloye noted that recent developments indicate a positive turn for the nation’s economy.
He highlighted the commendable appreciation of the Naira against the dollar in both official and parallel markets, emphasizing the significant relief this brings to Nigerians.
According to the former lawmaker, the ongoing economic growth will attract foreign portfolio investors, fostering price stability and mitigating inflationary pressures.
Oyintiloye remarked, “President Bola Tinubu’s strategic policy on the unification of exchange rates is yielding positive outcomes. The steady appreciation of the Naira in recent weeks signals a turning point.
“In the coming months, we will reap the rewards of the tough economic decisions made by the president. This will underscore his commitment to the welfare of all Nigerians through his economic policies.
“The remarkable appreciation of the Naira against major currencies is remarkable, and we anticipate further benefits.
“President Tinubu’s Renewed Agenda will come to fruition, and Nigerians will ultimately reap the rewards.
“By reducing our dependence on imports, we can accelerate the development of our nation, creating jobs and fostering economic growth.
“I commend the Central Bank of Nigeria for efficiently clearing the $7 billion Forex backlog, a move that will bolster exchange rate stability.
“I urge Nigerians to remain patient and steadfast in their support for President Tinubu’s administration, as better days are ahead.”
