Abdulwahab Magaji was charged with employment scam, while Salihu Musa faced charges of intent to defraud and conspiracy, brought by the Gombe Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Magaji was accused of obtaining ₦7,800,000 from a victim under the guise of offering employment at the Ministry of Health in Gombe. Salihu Musa was charged with creating false documents with the intent to deceive.

Both defendants pleaded guilty, prompting the prosecution to seek appropriate sentencing, while their defense counsel appealed for leniency, citing their lack of prior offenses.

In his verdict, Justice Abdulhamid Yakubu sentenced Salihu Musa to six years imprisonment, with the option of a ₦60,000 fine, and ordered the forfeiture of his iPhone S6. Abdulwahab Magaji received a three-year prison term or a ₦30,000 fine and was instructed to repay the ₦7,800,000 to his victim within three months.
