According to Naija News, the filmmaker took to Instagram on Wednesday to express his disapproval of this trend, calling it an “abomination.”

Edochie described traditional African religion as powerful and pledged his unwavering support and loyalty to it. He vowed never to forsake the ways of his ancestors, emphasizing that African spirituality is rooted in truth, transparency, and fairness.

Declaring himself a hardcore traditionalist, he honored himself with Igbo traditional titles.

Sharing a photo of himself dressed in Igbo white attire, he wrote:

“Because of fear of what people will say, Africans are running away from their powerful African religion, their originality. Abomination!!!

“I will NEVER abandon the ways of my forefathers. It is built on truth, transparency, and fairness. I’m a Hardcore Traditionalist. ISI MMILI JI OFOR. EZEDIKE 1. ALUSI NA EJE UKA. OKALA MMADU OKALA MMUO. THE KING OF WARRIORS.”

It is worth recalling that in 2024, Yul Edochie declared he had received a divine calling to pastor an online church.

Meanwhile, the actor has also raised concerns about the increasing number of premature deaths in recent times.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Edochie expressed concern over the rising deaths of young people in their twenties, thirties, and forties, attributing the trend to negligence and the abandonment of traditional spiritual practices in favor of foreign beliefs.

He claimed that the spirits once protecting individuals have withdrawn in anger due to their neglect.

Edochie urged Africans to reconnect with their indigenous traditions to restore balance and protection in their lives.
