Former PDP Governorship Candidate Jandor Holds Strategic Meeting With Tinubu In Lagos

According to Ireporter Online, former Lagos State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdulazeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for introducing economic reforms that he said have significantly improved funding for local governments across Nigeria.

Jandor made the remarks following a closed-door meeting with the President at his Lagos residence during the Christmas holiday. He described the engagement as productive and enlightening, noting that President Tinubu stressed the importance of strong alignment between the Federal Government and state governments to drive development.

Speaking on the discussion, Adediran said the President’s insights underscored the need for a shared vision between the centre and the states in order to achieve effective governance. He explained that he took the opportunity to brief Tinubu on the activities and performance of local government administrations in Lagos State, particularly their achievements within their first 100 days in office.

The former PDP candidate, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has since become a chieftain of the ruling party, said improved access to funds from the federation account has enabled councils in Lagos to initiate and complete visible development projects. He noted that several local governments have been able to commission roads, health centres, customary courts and other infrastructural projects within a short period in office.

Jandor attributed these developments to what he described as President Tinubu’s bold economic reforms and emphasis on accountability in public finance management, which he said have strengthened governance at the grassroots level.

He further expressed optimism about the President’s political future, stating that Tinubu’s influence continues to expand nationwide. Jandor also reiterated his intention to contest the Lagos State governorship seat again in 2027, while expressing confidence that President Tinubu would record a convincing victory in the next presidential election.
