Alex Scott Turns Down Bournemouth Deal As Arsenal, Man United Eye Move

According to Ireporter Online, Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott has rejected a new contract offer from the club, increasing speculation over his future amid strong interest from several Premier League heavyweights.

The 22-year-old England Under-21 international has been a major priority for Bournemouth’s summer plans, with the club keen to secure his long-term future. However, discussions between both parties have failed to produce an agreement.

Scott’s current deal with the Cherries still has two years remaining, but his decision has attracted attention from top clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Chelsea, all of whom are monitoring his situation.

Reports indicate that Bournemouth previously turned down an approach from Arsenal for the former Bristol City midfielder, while the club has continued to insist that Scott is not available for sale despite the stalled negotiations.

The south coast club has maintained that position publicly and privately, making it clear to Scott and interested teams that they expect him to remain at the Vitality Stadium, even if he begins the new season without signing a new contract.

Bournemouth are also reportedly unwilling to consider offers despite speculation that Scott could command a fee of around £80 million. The club’s strong financial position, boosted by significant player sales last summer, has strengthened their ability to retain key members of the squad.

The club has adopted a similar stance regarding highly-rated forward Junior Kroupi, who has attracted interest from Arsenal and Tottenham, while Brazil international Rayan is also expected to continue with Bournemouth after joining earlier this year.

Scott is currently part of new manager Marco Rose’s squad during pre-season preparations in Austria. The midfielder is aiming to continue his development after earning his first senior England call-up last November and being included in Thomas Tuchel’s extended training camp ahead of the World Cup, although he is yet to make his international debut.

The midfielder transfer market has been particularly active this summer, with several high-profile deals involving Premier League clubs. Manchester City are close to completing a major move for Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, while Chelsea are also pursuing Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers.

Scott began his professional career at Bristol City after moving from Guernsey FC in 2020, making 91 appearances for the Championship side before earning the league’s Young Player of the Season award during the 2022/23 campaign.

His impressive performances earned him a £25 million transfer to Bournemouth in 2023. Since joining the club, Scott has featured in 89 matches and scored six goals, playing an important role in Bournemouth’s historic sixth-place Premier League finish under Andoni Iraola during the 2025/26 season, which secured European football for the first time in the club’s history.
