Edo Gov Reshuffles Cabinet, Creates New Ministry — Full List

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has approved a cabinet reshuffle involving the redeployment of three commissioners and the creation of a new Ministry of Inter-Ethnic Relations as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.

According to Ireporter Online, the changes were announced on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, who said all the new appointments and redeployments would take immediate effect.

As part of the changes, Iriabekhai Kayode Jeffery has been moved to the Ministry of Mining, while Martin Anayochukwu Oli has been appointed to head the newly established Ministry of Inter-Ethnic Relations.

The state government explained that the new ministry was created to promote harmony among Edo’s various ethnic and community groups, encourage peaceful coexistence and leverage the state’s cultural diversity for development.

The administration said the ministry would play a key role in strengthening relationships among different communities and promoting unity across Edo State.

Governor Okpebholo also approved the redeployment of three serving commissioners, saying the adjustments were aimed at aligning their responsibilities with their experience, expertise and competencies.

Under the new arrangement, Commissioner for Communications, Ohimai Ehijimetor, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Livestock Development.

His counterpart in Livestock Development, Prof. Omorodion Ikponmwosa, has been transferred to the Ministry of Oil and Gas.

Andrew Momodu, who previously served as Commissioner for Oil and Gas, will now take charge of the Ministry of Communications.

The government directed all affected commissioners to ensure a smooth transition and immediately commence duties in their respective new ministries.

Governor Okpebholo also urged members of the State Executive Council to demonstrate greater professionalism, dedication and commitment in carrying out their responsibilities.
