Battle For Truth: DHQ Investigates Explosive Bandit Sponsorship Allegations Against Matawalle And Lawal!

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has confirmed the commencement of investigations into allegations surrounding the sponsorship of bandits in certain regions of the country.

Speaking during a press briefing on Thursday, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Edward Buba, addressed the ongoing claims between the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, and Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, who have publicly accused each other of funding bandits.

Recently, Matawalle challenged Lawal to swear on the Holy Qur’an to prove his non-involvement in sponsoring bandits, while Lawal claimed to have reported the issue to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, with evidence to support his allegations.

Buba reassured that the military and relevant security agencies are thoroughly investigating the situation, with official statements expected to be made soon. He emphasized that the primary focus remains defeating banditry and other criminal activities across the country.

“The relevant agencies are doing their jobs, and soon, an official announcement will be made regarding the sponsors. Our goal is to break the enemy’s will to fight, and once that is done, the war is won,” Buba stated.
