former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Obasanjo recently criticized the current administration under President Bola Tinubu, calling Nigeria a “failing state” and highlighting issues such as widespread corruption and governance failures. In response, Onanuga condemned Obasanjo, questioning his legacy as a Nigerian leader and accusing him of deflecting blame onto successors.
In his reaction, Bode George, speaking on Nigeria Info FM, stated that Onanuga’s actions were disrespectful, especially considering that Obasanjo is old enough to be his father. He emphasized that Yoruba culture does not tolerate such insults, especially when directed at elders.
George warned that Onanuga would face consequences for his words, adding that, in Yoruba tradition, such disrespect could result in spiritual consequences. He urged Onanuga to remain cautious, suggesting that there could be a day of reckoning for his actions.
