Borno Security Forces Strike Hard: Amirul Fiya And Three Terrorists Killed In Major Operation

The Nigerian Army has successfully neutralized three terrorists, including the notorious kingpin Amirul Fiya, also known as Abu Nazir, along with three others, during a failed attack on a military location in Borno State, according to iReporter Online.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Lt.-Col. Appolonia Anele, disclosed in a statement that troops recovered several weapons during the encounter.

According to iReporter Online, troops from the 3 Battalion, deployed at Forward Operating Base Rann Kala in Balge Local Government Area, repelled an attack by ISWAP/JAS terrorists on August 7, 2025. Lt.-Col.

Anele confirmed the discovery of the bodies of three terrorists, including their top commander Abu Nazir. Blood trails at the scene suggested other terrorists escaped with injuries, prompting a follow-up operation.

Furthermore, according to iReporter Online, the initial operation led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, an unexploded ordnance, two rocket-propelled grenades, and other items.

In a subsequent operation on August 9, troops working with the Civilian Joint Task Force/Hybrid Force found another terrorist corpse and seized additional weapons and ammunition.

Meanwhile, in Zamfara State, troops responded swiftly to credible intelligence on terrorist activities along the Gusau–Kaura Namoda Road, rescuing two kidnapped victims, while in Ebonyi State, soldiers intervened in a communal crisis, neutralizing an armed criminal and recovering firearms and explosives.
