Dederi, highlighted the decision in a press conference at the Nigerian Union of Journalists Press Centre Kano.

The verdict, which overturned earlier judgments by the Federal High Court, affirms the state’s lawful actions in chieftaincy appointments and reforms within traditional institutions.

“The appellate court’s ruling validates our actions and reinforces our commitment to equitable representation and inclusive governance,” Dederi stated.

He emphasized that the judgment clarifies the rightful jurisdiction over chieftaincy matters, maintaining the constitutional boundaries of courts in such affairs.

“The Court of Appeal has quashed previous judgments made by the Federal High Court Kano, upholding the law enacted by the Kano State House of Assembly regarding Emirates and the actions taken by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State,” he said.

Dederi urged public and private institutions to comply fully with the Court of Appeal’s decision to ensure the judgment’s effect.
