The statement hailed this milestone as a fulfillment of President Tinubu’s commitments. “Promise Kept. Signed into Law by President Bola Tinubu. The Federal University of Environment and Technology (TAI) Establishment Bill 2024,” read the communiqué from the State House.

Naija News recalls that President Tinubu recently urged the people of Ogoniland to set aside historical grievances and embrace a path to peace. This appeal came during a meeting at Aso Rock Villa with a delegation of Ogoni leaders and senior government officials, where he committed to prioritizing peace, justice, and sustainable development in the region.

During the meeting, which included Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of unity and reconciliation, stating that unresolved anger hinders healing.

To facilitate negotiations, President Tinubu directed National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu to oversee the process, calling for inclusive dialogue and mutual understanding.

In a statement from Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised the delegation for their willingness to engage in government-led discussions and stressed the need for collaboration, trust, and inclusiveness to address ongoing challenges in the region.
