According to Ireporter Online, popular Anambra-based cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje, has stirred conversations online after declaring that he does not celebrate Christmas in the conventional sense but instead observes what he calls “Chrismarity.”

The outspoken pastor made the statement during a church service, a clip of which has since gone viral across social media platforms. Dressed in festive attire, Odumeje told his congregation that his celebration goes beyond the traditional understanding of Christmas.

Explaining his position, the cleric said Christmas, as commonly observed, resembles the act of performing a mass, while Chrismarity represents a deeper, all-encompassing Christ-like experience. He described Chrismarity as embodying the true nature, joy, and lifestyle of Christ, rather than limiting the celebration to a single day or ritual.

In his words, he emphasized that Chrismarity is about living and enjoying a Christly life in its fullness, noting that this is what he chooses to celebrate. Despite his unconventional stance, Odumeje concluded his remarks by extending festive greetings to his audience.
