In a statement on Friday, Comptroller Effiong Harrison, the Customs Area Controller (CAC), revealed that the command’s initial target for 2024 was ₦56.861 billion. The achievement marks a 20% increase, translating to an additional ₦14.77 billion over the target.
Harrison described the feat as unprecedented, noting it was the highest revenue ever recorded in the command’s history. July 2024 stood out as a remarkable month, with ₦12 billion generated—the highest monthly revenue to date.
Comparing 2024 to 2023, the CAC highlighted a significant increase, with revenue rising by ₦41.1 billion compared to ₦30.5 billion in 2023, reflecting 135% growth.
The success, according to Harrison, is attributed to the dedication and professionalism of the command’s officers and men, coupled with the support of Comptroller-General Bashir Adeniyi and key stakeholders.
Harrison expressed optimism about achieving even greater milestones in 2025 and urged officers to maintain high operational standards to sustain the momentum.
