NAQS Recruitment: Agency Postpones Shortlist Release, Applicants Told To Wait

According to IReporter Online, the shortlist was originally scheduled for publication on Thursday, August 13. However, the agency said additional time was required to ensure the screening process was thorough, transparent and accurate.

The development was announced in a public notice signed by the Director of Human Resources, ACG Issaka Ahmed, and published through the agency’s official communication channels.

NAQS explained that the volume and nature of the screening process made it necessary to delay the release of the list.

The agency apologised to applicants for any inconvenience caused by the postponement and appealed to them to remain patient while a new date is being determined.

NAQS said a fresh date for the publication of the shortlisted candidates would be communicated in due course through its official platforms.

The agency also warned applicants and members of the public against relying on unverified information, urging them to obtain recruitment updates only from its recognised communication channels.

The recruitment exercise generated significant interest among Nigerians seeking employment opportunities with the agency. Statistics released by NAQS showed that 606,928 applications were initiated during the recruitment period, while 407,659 applications were successfully completed and submitted before the portal closed.

According to the agency, 199,269 applications remained incomplete at the end of the application window.

The recruitment portal opened on July 28 and closed on August 10, with several categories attracting thousands of applications.

The Assistant Superintendent of Quarantine II cadre, which requires applicants to possess either an HND or bachelor’s degree, recorded the highest number of applications, with 290,076 submissions.

The Quarantine Assistant II cadre followed with 117,177 applications, while the NCE category recorded 79,685 applications. The OND category received 70,170 applications, while 13,183 applications were submitted for the Superintendent cadre, which requires a master’s degree.

NAQS had earlier scheduled a computer-based test and interviews to begin on August 15, following the planned release of the shortlist on August 13.

However, the postponement means applicants will have to await further information before the next stages of the recruitment exercise can proceed.

The recruitment covers positions across the Superintendent, Inspectorate and Assistant cadres, with NAQS urging all applicants to remain patient and continue checking its official communication channels for the new schedule.
