Power Talks In Akure: Aiyedatiwa, APC Bigwigs Map New Path For Governance

The Ondo State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) held its maiden meeting on Saturday, hosted by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in a strategic move to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to IReporter Online, the high-powered session brought together top party leaders to foster stronger collaboration between the government and the APC.

The GAC, chaired by Chief Pius Akinyelure with Honourable Isaac Kekemeke as secretary, serves as a bridge between the ruling party and the state government, ensuring unity and effective governance.

The meeting, held at the Government House Banquet Hall in Akure, deliberated on key issues affecting both governance and party growth.

Speaking after the session, Akinyelure described the parley as highly productive, stressing that it aimed to “bridge the gap” between party and government for smoother operations.

According to IReporter Online, discussions also focused on reinforcing the governor’s role as party leader and preventing any form of disunity within the APC’s ranks in the state.

Other notable attendees, including former APC National Vice Chairman (Southwest) Pastor Bankole Oluwajana and former Senator Robert Ajayi Boroffice, commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for creating a platform where frank, closed-door conversations could take place.

They also lauded his achievements in governance, including clearing salary backlogs and reducing state debt without resorting to borrowing.

Honourable Kekemeke explained that the council resolved to strengthen both the party and government machinery while reaffirming the APC as one united body without factions.

According to IReporter Online, the GAC also agreed on wider stakeholder consultations and stressed that support groups must complement rather than compete with the party’s structure, especially as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
