Seyi Tinubu Visits Alaafin’s Palace For Installation As ‘Okanlomo Of Yorubaland

According to Ireporter Online, Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and his wife, Layal, arrived at the palace of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, for a prestigious chieftaincy installation.

The city of Oyo is currently hosting a significant gathering of political leaders and traditional rulers who have come to witness the conferment of high-ranking titles by the Alaafin. Prominent figures at the event include former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, legislators, and an array of traditional chiefs from across the country.

Seyi Tinubu is set to receive the title of “Okanlomo of Yorubaland,” which translates as “the beloved child” or “the one dear to the hearts of all Yoruba people.” The honor is regarded as a symbol of custodianship over Yoruba cultural values, unity, and heritage.

Additionally, Abdul’Aziz Yari, Senator representing Zamfara West and a former Governor of Zamfara State, is also in Oyo with a delegation of northern senators and political figures. He is to be installed as the “Obaloyin of Yorubaland,” a title embodying love, compassion, justice, and the connection between physical and spiritual realms.

According to Bode Durojaiye, Director of Media and Publicity to the Alaafin, both titles carry significant responsibilities, including the promotion of Yoruba culture, advising the Alaafin, fostering unity, and advancing education and social welfare initiatives.
