qualifiers against Ghana.
Following an intensive three-week training camp in Ikenne, interim head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has named the squad, including familiar faces such as Enyimba’s goalkeeper Henry Ozoemena and Remo Stars’ Kayode Bankole.
The Super Eagles B team arrived in Ghana late Friday in preparation for Sunday’s first-leg clash against the Black Galaxies, with the return leg scheduled for December 28 at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
The squad features a solid defensive line, including Nasarawa United’s Victor Collins and Waliu Ojetoye from Ikorodu City, as well as Imo Obot (Enyimba FC), Junior Nduka (Remo Stars), and Ifeanyi Onyebuchi (Rangers International).
Midfield veterans Ali, Jide Fatokun (Remo Stars), Saviour Isaac (Rangers International), and Musa Zayyad (El-Kanemi Warriors) are joined by dynamic attackers such as Anas Yusuf, Adamu Abubakar (Plateau United), Sikiru Alimi (Remo Stars), Emmanuel Ogbole (Kwara United), and Papa Daniel Mustapha (Niger Tornadoes).
Notably absent from the squad are Rangers’ Kazeem Ogunleye, Plateau United’s Temitope Vincent, Rivers United’s powerful left-back Taiwo Abdulrafiu, and Abia Warriors’ forward Sunday Megwo.
In their pre-qualification camp, the Super Eagles B triumphed in four friendly matches, concluding with a 2-1 victory over Remo Stars on Wednesday.
The highly anticipated first-leg match in Ghana is crucial for the Super Eagles B, who are determined to secure a spot in the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) in February 2025, hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. Nigeria, yet to win the competition, aims to redeem its past defeats to Ghana, who eliminated them in 2009 and 2023.
