BREAKING: OK Movement Disowns Campaign Council List, Set To Name New DG

The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement (OK Movement) has distanced itself from a trending list purportedly containing members of its presidential campaign council for the 2027 election.

According to a statement issued by the movement on Thursday, the organisation has not released any presidential campaign council list and urged members of the public and media organisations to disregard the document circulating online.

The group stated that any presidential campaign council for the 2027 election would be announced by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) through its official channels at the appropriate time.

The OK Movement also disclosed that it would soon announce a new Director-General for the organisation.

The movement is a political support and grassroots organisation associated with efforts to mobilise support for the presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso on the NDC platform.

In a separate development, the group condemned the recent incident involving Obi during his visit to Benue State, describing the reported obstruction as unacceptable.

The movement said it chose not to retaliate during the incident in order to prevent the situation from escalating into a wider confrontation.

According to the group, presidential aspirants and political leaders have the constitutional right to visit and campaign in different parts of Nigeria.

It further argued that political activities should not be prevented through intimidation, harassment or violence, regardless of the political affiliations involved.

The OK Movement said its security personnel exercised restraint during the incident, stressing that the decision was intended to maintain peace and prevent further escalation.
