Photos: African Rock Python Released Into National Park After Rescue

Authorities in Chad have released a Seba python, also known as the African rock python, into a waterway within the Zah Soo National Park as part of efforts to protect wildlife and preserve the country’s natural ecosystem.

According to reports, the development was announced on Thursday by Chad’s Minister of the Environment, Hassan Bakhit Djamous, in a statement shared on Facebook.

The minister said the python was successfully returned to a suitable habitat within the national park, where it can survive as part of the area’s natural ecosystem.

The Seba python, or African rock python, is one of Africa’s largest snake species and is commonly associated with wetlands, grasslands and other habitats that provide suitable conditions for the species.

The release forms part of ongoing wildlife conservation efforts in Chad aimed at protecting animals and preserving natural habitats.

Zah Soo National Park is among the country’s protected areas where authorities are working to safeguard biodiversity and maintain ecological balance.
