Dollar To Naira Today: Exchange Rate For September 16, 2026
The Nigerian naira recorded a slight decline against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, as the exchange rate moved higher compared with the previous trading day.
According to market data attributed to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the naira traded at ₦1,329.1485 to the US dollar on Tuesday, compared with ₦1,326.3014 recorded on Monday.
The movement represents a rise in the official exchange rate, indicating that the naira weakened slightly against the dollar during the period under review.
At the parallel market, commonly referred to as the black market, the dollar was reported to have closed at about ₦1,394 on Tuesday.
However, actual exchange rates offered by commercial banks, Bureau de Change operators and other foreign exchange dealers may vary from the official reference rates. Such differences are often influenced by transaction margins, market demand and supply, as well as other prevailing conditions in the foreign exchange market.
Market participants are expected to continue monitoring foreign exchange inflows, demand for the US dollar and policy measures by the CBN for further indications of the naira’s performance in the coming days.
