Exclusive: Voting Ends Early In Several Polling Units Amid Controversy – Osun LG Election 

Voting has concluded in several polling units in Ede during the ongoing Osun local government elections. As reported by TheNation, many polling units in Ede finished voting as early as 8:51 AM.

Among the areas where voting wrapped up are Alajue 1 Ward 4 Unit 20, Alajue 1 Ward 4 Unit 10, Ward 4 Unit 8, Ward 8 Unit 6, and Kajola-Owode-Ede.……RAED MORE 

However, voting remained absent in most units along Owode Ede, Seventh Day School, Ogo-Oluwa, Africa, Gof Junction, and Ola-Iya.

Meanwhile, Governor Ademola Adeleke cast his vote in the ongoing election, despite a dispute between the Nigeria Police Force and the Osun State Government over the election’s legitimacy. The Police had called for its suspension, citing security concerns, but the state government chose to proceed.

After voting, Governor Adeleke spoke to journalists, praising the peaceful nature of the election process. He encouraged Osun residents to participate in the voting while ensuring peace.

“The process has been very peaceful. I broadcasted a message to my people in Osun State, urging them to vote peacefully. They should cast their votes and go home without any violence. We must not give anyone the opportunity to claim there was unrest,” he stated.
