First Lady Says National Unity Is The Foundation Of Nigeria’s Prosperity

Speaking in Kaduna during the annual distribution of food items to the Christian Northern Nigeria Political Forum (CNNPF) ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the First Lady stressed that harmony among Nigerians attracts divine favour and strengthens the nation’s collective resolve. Drawing inspiration from biblical teachings, she noted that unity among people invites blessings and accelerates progress.

She urged Nigerians not to lose hope in the country despite prevailing global and domestic challenges, encouraging citizens to remain committed to building a better nation. The First Lady expressed confidence that positive developments are already taking shape across the country and called on Nigerians to stay united in the journey toward national renewal.

She further emphasised that peace and mutual understanding remain indispensable to meaningful development, adding that genuine nation-building thrives where citizens see one another as brothers and sisters beyond ethnic or religious divides. Commending Kaduna State for its efforts in fostering interfaith harmony, Senator Tinubu praised Governor Uba Sani for promoting peace and urged other states to emulate the example.

The First Lady also acknowledged the hospitality of the Kaduna State governor and his wife, Hajia Hafsat Uba Sani, noting that their leadership demonstrates that peaceful coexistence across diverse communities is achievable. She extended her message to the creative industry, encouraging artists and entertainers to collaborate with government in nation-building, describing them as powerful ambassadors of unity and national pride on the global stage.

In his remarks, Governor Uba Sani described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady as leaders deeply committed to service, compassion, and national cohesion, adding that the First Lady’s philanthropic initiatives cut across religious, ethnic, and regional lines. Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, also observed that Kaduna State has recorded improved peace through purposeful leadership, which he said reflects the President’s approach at the national level.

Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, assured Nigerians that ongoing initiatives by the APC-led Federal Government and APC-governed states would usher in a better year for citizens in 2026. The National Coordinator of the CNNPF, Ibrahim Itodo, praised President Tinubu for sustaining national unity and offered prayers for his continued leadership.

The annual food distribution programme, a joint initiative of the Office of the First Lady and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, benefited over 48,000 people from 19 northern states, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to social welfare and inclusive national development.
