Fubara’s Impeachment? Are You Hearing Anything?” – APC Chairman Taunts Critics

According to Ireporter Online, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has revealed that the party is carefully addressing the impeachment threat facing Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

Yilwatda made this known on Sunday while speaking during a televised interview, against the backdrop of heightened political tension in Rivers State. He stated that the party had initiated consultations with key stakeholders to calm the situation and defuse the impeachment move directed at Governor Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu.

While responding to questions on the crisis, the APC chairman suggested that the impeachment talk had significantly eased, noting that the matter was being handled through internal party engagements with lawmakers. He emphasized that the situation was an internal issue being addressed through dialogue.

Yilwatda further explained that the APC possesses established internal conflict-resolution frameworks that enable it to manage disputes effectively. He described the party’s intervention in Rivers State as a “self-healing” process designed to restore stability and cohesion.

According to him, the ongoing efforts are aimed at stabilising the political environment in the oil-rich state and positioning the party to fully harness its opportunities ahead of future electoral contests.
