Governor Eno Rolls Out ₦492.7m Grants, Cars, and Buses to Empower Constituents

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has distributed N492.7 million in agricultural, trade, and business grants to 1,187 beneficiaries in Uyo Federal Constituency. The disbursement took place during a constituency town hall meeting at Ibom Hall grounds, Uyo.

According to the governor, 276 recipients received the ARISE Farmers Grant, 628 benefited from the ARISE Traders Grant, and 263 were supported through the ARISE Equipment Support Scheme. Additionally, eight individuals received a total of N5 million in MSME grants, while 12 others were presented with cars and mini buses.

Governor Eno noted that in the two years of his administration, 116 projects have been delivered across the constituency — which covers Uyo, Uruan, Nsit Attai, and Ibesikpo Asutan local government areas — including roads, health centres, compassionate homes, elderly care facilities, and primary schools.

The event also served as a platform to present the constituency’s Needs Document for inclusion in the 2026 People’s Budget. The governor assured that the proposals would be considered based on available resources.

He explained that the beneficiary selection was conducted through the ARISE Youth Employment Portal to ensure transparency and that all recipients are residents of the constituency. Governor Eno expressed appreciation to the people for their unity and to the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, for his leadership in aligning the constituency’s interests with the state’s development agenda.
