Speaking ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s one-day visit to Enugu, where he will inaugurate major security projects, including an ultramodern Command and Control Centre and AI-embedded patrol vehicles for the Distress Response Squad, Egbetokun expressed his appreciation for the state’s cooperation with the police in maintaining peace.

The IG further emphasized that the police force will work to strengthen its community relations and maintain ethical conduct among officers. “Our goal for this year is to intensify efforts in community engagement and professionalism to ensure a safer Nigeria,” he stated.

Governor Mbah, in his remarks, expressed his gratitude to the IG for the invaluable support the Nigeria Police has provided to Enugu State. He highlighted that the collaboration has been crucial to tackling insecurity, which is essential for the state’s economic growth. The Governor also mentioned that ensuring security was key to realizing Enugu’s economic aspirations.

Egbetokun concluded by reaffirming that with the ongoing support of the state government, the Nigeria Police will continue to address current challenges and work toward a more secure environment for all Nigerians.
