Mbappé Reigns Supreme! PSG Star Clinches European Golden Boot, Leaves Gyökeres & Salah Behind

Kylian Mbappé has clinched the European Golden Boot for the first time in his career after netting 31 goals during the 2024–2025 La Liga season, accumulating 62 points.

Having joined Real Madrid last summer, Mbappé becomes the club’s first player to win the prestigious award since 2007.

He narrowly beat Viktor Gyökeres of Sporting CP, who scored 39 goals in Portugal’s Primeira Liga but earned 58.5 points due to the league’s lower UEFA coefficient. Mohamed Salah of Liverpool finished third with 29 goals and 58 points.

Although Real Madrid ended the season without a major trophy, Mbappé’s individual brilliance stood out. He also secured the Pichichi Trophy as La Liga’s top scorer and joined the elite group of players to score 30+ goals in their first La Liga campaign.

Across all competitions, Mbappé tallied 43 goals, none of which were headers, underlining his finesse and skill as a central striker. His role this season showcased his versatility and elite finishing ability.

With this latest accolade, Mbappé becomes the only player in history to win the FIFA World Cup Golden Boot, the UEFA Champions League Golden Boot, and the European Golden Boot.

He is now expected to lead Real Madrid in the upcoming 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, where he’ll have the chance to further solidify his legendary status.
