Nigeria Welcomes Crown Princess Victoria Of Sweden For Official Visit
The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Her Royal Highness, Victoria Désirée, Crown Princess of Sweden, will undertake an official visit to Nigeria from April 7 to April 9, 2025. This announcement was made on Sunday by Kimiebi Ebienfa, the Acting Spokesperson for the Ministry.
The purpose of the visit is to strengthen diplomatic and economic collaborations between Nigeria and Sweden.
During her stay, the Crown Princess is expected to engage in high-level meetings with prominent Nigerian government officials. On the first day of her visit, she will be welcomed by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and will also meet with Vice President Kashim Shettima and the Governor of Lagos State.
One of the key highlights of her trip will be the formal inauguration of the Swedish Trade Office in Lagos—a significant step towards enhancing bilateral trade, as noted by the Ministry.
The statement outlined, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to announce the official visit of Her Royal Highness, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, scheduled for Monday, April 7, to Wednesday, April 9, 2025. The visiting royal will meet with senior Nigerian officials and participate in discussions aimed at deepening the diplomatic and economic ties between our two nations.”
Ebienfa emphasized that this visit reflects the strong partnership between Nigeria and Sweden, which is characterized by a mutual interest in trade, sustainable development, gender equality, and cultural connections.
“This visit highlights the robust and cordial bilateral relations between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Sweden, demonstrating our shared commitment to fostering cooperation in various areas including trade, sustainable development, and cultural exchange. Nigeria is dedicated to strengthening its relationship with Sweden, and we anticipate a productive engagement that will benefit both nations,” the statement concluded.
