Super Eagles are ready to soar as they gear up for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Benin Republic. Team captain William Troost-Ekong expressed the squad’s excitement and determination to secure a win in the upcoming fixture.

The three-time African champions will host the Benin Republic Cheetahs at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, in what promises to be an electrifying matchday one encounter.

Speaking at a press briefing in Uyo on Friday, Troost-Ekong highlighted the team’s positive mindset and readiness for the crucial game.

“The mood in camp is very good, and we’re excited about this game. Our goal is clear—we want to be in Morocco for the AFCON,” Troost-Ekong stated. “We will achieve that by winning our qualifying matches. The boys are in the right frame of mind, and I’ve been impressed with what I’ve seen in training.”
