Published

According to Ireporter Online, the dollar to naira exchange rate in Nigeria’s black market, also known as the parallel market or Aboki FX, remained active on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Reports from Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in Lagos indicate that a dollar was sold for ₦1,460 and purchased at ₦1,445.

It is important to note that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognize transactions in the parallel market and has instructed individuals seeking foreign exchange to transact through authorized banks.

For reference, the official CBN exchange rate for the same day ranged between ₦1,381 and ₦1,392 per dollar. Observers caution that black market rates can fluctuate rapidly, and the prices at which individuals buy or sell dollars may differ from reported averages.
