The Federal Government has voiced concerns that certain individuals are actively sabotaging the initiatives of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration aimed at revitalizing the Nigerian economy.

Speaking at the Public Wealth Management Conference in Abuja yesterday, Vice President Sen. Kashim Shettima revealed this disturbing trend, singling out smugglers and politicians as the masterminds behind the deliberate attempt to regress the nation’s progress.

VP Shettima disclosed the interception of 45 trucks loaded with maize en route to neighboring countries during a midnight operation on Sunday, pointing to this as a clear indication of sabotage.

“We understand the grave repercussions of exposing these perpetrators. There are forces determined to push this country into chaos—individuals who failed to secure power through legitimate means and are now resorting to desperate measures,” Shettima emphasized.

Sabotage Unveiled

“Just three nights ago, 45 trucks carrying maize were apprehended while trying to cross into a neighboring nation. We have identified 32 illegal routes facilitating such activities.

“Upon interception, the price of maize plummeted by N10,000, dropping from N60,000 to N50,000. It is evident that there are entities actively working to undermine our nation’s stability, but now is the time for unity and collective action,” Shettima asserted.
