You’re Scared Of Our Massive Membership Drive’ – APC Hits Back At ADC

According to Ireporter Online, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of being unsettled by the massive turnout recorded in the ruling party’s ongoing electronic membership registration exercise.

The APC made the allegation in a statement released on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, while responding to claims by the ADC that civil servants in some states were allegedly being coerced to register as members of the ruling party.

Earlier, the ADC had alleged that the APC was exerting economic pressure on public servants to compel them to participate in the registration exercise, warning that such actions, if true, would violate constitutional rights and compromise the neutrality of the civil service. The opposition party, in a statement issued on Sunday and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, described the alleged actions as economic coercion and forced membership.

However, the APC dismissed the allegations, describing them as false, baseless, and part of what it termed a deliberate disinformation campaign by the ADC. The ruling party insisted that the registration process is voluntary and driven by widespread public support for its policies and performance in government.

The APC stated that millions of Nigerians have willingly embraced the party, inspired by what it described as the visible impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda. It added that the overwhelming response to the e-registration exercise prompted the party’s leadership to extend the registration deadline from January 31 to February 8, 2026, in response to popular demand.

According to the statement, the APC accused the ADC of attempting to discredit the exercise through misinformation, including the alleged fabrication and circulation of a fake APC membership slip. The ruling party maintained that the opposition’s reaction was rooted in fear and intimidation over the success of the digital registration process.

The APC reaffirmed its commitment to democratic innovation and digital advancement, stating that while opposition parties engage in what it called falsehoods and distractions, the ruling party remains focused on strengthening its structures and advancing democratic participation across the country.
