Prof. Nkechi Ikediugwu, the Chairman of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission, made the announcement during the Anambra Schools’ Cultural Day celebration in Awka. She instructed school principals and teachers to confiscate mobile phones brought by students.
The ban aims to reduce distractions and improve academic performance. Ikediugwu emphasized that students’ focus on their studies should not be interrupted by mobile phones during school hours.
She also highlighted the efforts of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration in investing in education and promoting discipline. Additionally, she stressed the importance of preserving Igbo culture and values, which include honesty, hard work, and respect for elders.
