Barcelona Seal €8.5m Deal For Teenage Sensation Jesse Bisiwu
Spanish football giants, Barcelona, have reportedly reached an agreement with Belgian side Club Brugge for the signing of highly-rated winger Jesse Bisiwu.
According to Ireporter Online, the transfer agreement was reached after Barcelona accepted the inclusion of a 20 percent sell-on clause, allowing Club Brugge to benefit from any future sale of the player.
The Catalan club is set to pay a guaranteed fee of €8.5 million for the 18-year-old Belgian youth international, despite having an earlier €10 million offer rejected by the Belgian club.
Football transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on Tuesday, revealing that both clubs had begun exchanging documents to finalise the deal.
“Barcelona seal the agreement to sign Jesse Bisiwu from Club Brugge, here we go,” Romano announced.
Reports indicate that Club Brugge agreed to lower its initial financial demand after securing a future percentage from any potential transfer involving the teenager.
The arrangement allows Barcelona to manage their immediate spending while giving the Belgian club the opportunity to earn additional revenue if Bisiwu develops into a top-level player and attracts interest from other clubs in the future.
The move highlights Barcelona’s continued strategy of investing in young talents with significant potential before their market value rises.
The Spanish giants have reportedly tracked Bisiwu for months as sporting director Deco and recruitment officials continue efforts to strengthen the club’s long-term squad planning.
Bisiwu is regarded as one of Belgium’s promising young prospects, known for his speed, quick movement, and ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations. The teenager can operate on either wing, providing attacking versatility.
The winger is expected to begin his Barcelona career with Barça Atlètic, the club’s reserve team, where he will continue his development.
However, strong performances could earn him opportunities to train with Barcelona’s senior squad or feature under manager Hansi Flick during the 2026/27 campaign.
Reports from Spain suggest that Bisiwu may also be included in the first-team group for Barcelona’s upcoming pre-season preparations in England.
With several senior players expected to return later after their involvement in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the situation could provide younger players like Bisiwu with a chance to impress the German coach.
A successful pre-season campaign could see the 18-year-old move closer to regular involvement with Barcelona’s first-team setup.
