Direct Fuel Access: PETROAN And Dangote Refinery Gear Up For Game-Changing Deal

between the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and Dangote Refinery for a direct purchase arrangement, effectively removing intermediaries.

On Tuesday, PETROAN’s Publicity Secretary, Joseph Obele, confirmed that Dangote Refinery reached out via email to PETROAN’s President, Dr. Billy Harry, proposing a strategic business meeting. In preparation, Dr. Harry has formed a seven-member delegation to represent PETROAN at the talks.

Obele stated, “The Head of Commercial at Dangote Refinery has emailed PETROAN’s National President, Dr. Billy Harry, about a forthcoming strategic business meeting.”

According to Obele, PETROAN’s focus in these discussions will be to ensure that fuel consumers have access to affordable, high-quality products that comply with regulatory standards and industry best practices. He added that this meeting holds the potential for significant benefits to the public, Dangote Refinery, and fuel retail owners alike.

In a separate statement, PETROAN’s National Headquarters commended Dangote Refinery’s direct fuel supply agreement with IPMAN, which bypasses intermediaries such as the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC). PETROAN noted that this collaboration, coupled with market shifts and supply chain efficiencies, could lead to a reduction in PMS prices for consumers.

Highlighting the importance of collaboration within the sensitive oil and gas sector, PETROAN expressed optimism that open communication with industry stakeholders would maintain stability and benefit the general public in the long run.
