outlined in a letter dated January 16, 2025, addressed to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, confirmed that the institution would be named after President Bola Tinubu. The Polytechnic will be called Bola Ahmed Tinubu Polytechnic, Gwarinpa, and will focus on advancing technological, vocational, and entrepreneurial training in line with Nigeria’s national education policy.

Alausa stated that a technical team from the Federal Ministry of Education, along with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), will visit the site to inspect the proposed locations. The final approval will be based on the team’s evaluation and reports.

The Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, expressed his gratitude to Tinubu for approving the polytechnic and commended the FCT Minister for his efforts in turning this vision into a reality for residents. Maikalangu described the establishment of the institution as a major milestone that would contribute to the progress of Gwarinpa and the broader FCT community.
