Lagos Task Force Arrests 27 Individuals For Alleged Street Begging

Wahab indicated that the operation took place on Tuesday.

“The task force conducted a targeted operation to address individuals creating public disturbances throughout the city,” he stated.

“During this operation, 27 individuals, including 15 minors, were apprehended for engaging in street begging amidst heavy traffic disruptions.

“Key areas targeted included Awolowo Way to Falomo Roundabout, Ikoyi, and Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue along Lekki Road. This initiative aims to apprehend and remove destitute individuals from these locations,” he added.

According to the commissioner, all detainees will be transferred to appropriate government facilities in accordance with relevant laws.
